Alpha Terra Introduction
25+ Years in Business
In 1996, Ed von Dran completed 20 years of service to our country; having served as both enlisted and officer, this “Mustang” struck out to find new challenges. His interest in the environment and sensor technology drove our initial environmental geophysics core business. Ed recognized that stronger credentials and further education were necessary to move the business forward. With an advanced degree and professional licensure, Ed revitalized the firm and, to show its new direction and strength, renamed it Alpha Terra Engineering, Inc. (ATI). Since the reformation of the firm, the company has enjoyed prosperity and faced challenges. The key is taking the diversity of engineering skills and talents, coupling them with the ingenuity borne from military service, and then harnessing them for entrepreneurial endeavors. The result was a company with boundless capabilities across multiple business sectors. Honing and expansion of core skills create new opportunities for ATI. Environmental capabilities expanded to include health and safety within the built environment. Acquiring new skills means new services. The NEW ATI! offers architectural and engineering design, program/project management, environmental, energy consulting, and construction period services.
ATI is also a licensed asbestos, lead-based paint, and mold consultant. Along with a Geoscience firm and Asbestos Laboratory PCM firm. In addition, ATI routinely performs HAZMAT assessments in which identified materials are in plans and specifications for occupant protection during construction services.
Now with horizontal and vertical assessments, renovations, and new construction capabilities, these new skills propel us forward with an ever-growing client base.
With work in 38 states, eight countries, and the territory of Guam, ATI has supported federal, private industry, and municipal clients for over 25 years all while having a diverse and quality portfolio. Through our core values, ATI delivers quality, innovation, ethical, safe, and sustainable solutions in a diverse and ever-changing environment.
The San Antonio Business Journal affirmed ATI’s growth by recognizing it as one of the San Antonio region’s largest Service-Disabled Veteran Owned Small Business (SDVOSB) firms.
Drawing on expertise and experience in Government acquisition and as a consultant to our Federal clients, we have developed world-class and regulatory-compliant policies and procedures for Program and Project Management, Health and Safety, Human Resources, specialty plans for fieldwork, and engineering and architectural design.
