Environmental/Industrial Hygiene Technician

Our firm is seeking an industrial hygienist technician (IHT) that will, under direct supervision, perform clearly defined duties in various specialized areas of the discipline to include field workplace monitoring, surveys, assessments, data review and report writing. In addition, ATEI prefers the successful IHT candidate to be a Texas Department of State Health Services (TDSHS) Licensed Air Monitoring Technician and Asbestos Inspector to carry out onsite project oversight and monitoring activities during asbestos abatement projects.
Duties include asbestos, mold and lead visual inspections; monitor asbestos related abatement activities; collect and obtain analysis of area/personnel air samples for exposure monitoring; perform Phase Contrast Microscopy in accordance with the National Institute of Occupational Safety and Health Method 7400; perform final clearance; properly fill out field paperwork.
Basic Requirements
- High School diploma, GED, or greater
- 2+ years of experience within the industrial hygiene or environmental consulting field
- Valid Texas driver’s license and good driving record
- Willingness to travel overnight or extended periods
- Ability to successfully pass a government service background check, drug screen, and successfully qualify for an ID badge issued through various Government Agencies (military, municipal, etc.)
- Good listening, verbal, and written communication skills (technical writing a plus)
- Good organizational skills and the ability to multi-task
- Attention to detail
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Effectively communicate to fellow ATEI staff, supervisor, clients, contractors, or service vendors
Technical Requirements
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
- Possess current and valid state of Texas issued (TDSHS) Certificate of Accreditation for Air Monitoring Technician, Asbestos Inspector, Asbestos Contractor/Supervisor, Lead Base Paint Risk Assessor and maintain annual refresher certifications (Current TDLR Mold licenses are a plus)
- Demonstrate familiarity with NIOSH 582 Equivalent for sampling and evaluating airborne asbestos
- Ability to perform detailed fieldwork and possess good working knowledge of various Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ) protocols pertaining to environmental sampling and project monitoring
- Demonstrate proficiency in performing asbestos and/or lead-based paint related industrial hygiene inspection services under the direct supervision of the Project Manager
- Follow ATEI Employee Manual and Safety requirements

• Conducting fieldwork in multiple ambient weather conditions within the state of Texas and throughout the United States
• Walk, stand, crawl, kneel, climb, and perform repeated bending as needed when executing field work
• Distinguish colors and shades of color for sample identification and analysis
• Occasional lifting of objects exceeding 45 pounds
• Competently and safely operate various hand tools and equipment (will train as needed)

Mid-Level Civil Engineer
Alpha Terra Engineering, Inc. is a Service-Disabled Veteran Owned Small Business (SDVOSB) providing A-E services since 1997. We are experiencing a period of growth and expanding our team!
Our firm is looking for a Mid-Level Civil Engineer to join our Engineering Team. Under the supervision of our Lead Engineer, the Mid-Level Civil Engineer will assist in providing technical expertise and guidance on various projects for Federal, State, and private sectors.
Responsibilities:
- Perform assignments under supervision of the Lead Civil Engineer or Project Manager
- Assist in the training of Engineers in Training (EITs)
- Utilize industry standards for engineering techniques and procedures
- Develop, prepare and/or review engineering designs and specifications for structures, facilities and/or systems
- Familiar with the City of San Antonio Development Codes and permit process.
- Preparation of a Storm Water Management Plan (SWMP) and a regional storm water management participation form for the proposed single-family residential subdivision.
- Developing a Preliminary Site Plan for projects and working with closely with Clients and Architects to move projects to the next phase of development.
- Producing Site grading plans, Utility and geometric plans and landscape plans for Construction plans and Documents.
- Supporting the Business Development Team in client presentations and proposal preparations.
- Working closely with land surveyors to obtain, Boundary, improvement, tree and topographical surveys.
- Develop, prepare, and review reports and studies to identify and recommend engineering solutions
- Perform construction observation of engineering systems operations, structures, and facilities in the field
- Quality control for engineering best practices, statutes, and regulations
- All other duties as assigned in a cross-disciplinary team of engineers, planners, and architects
- Coordinate with allied consultants to develop buildable projects that meet the letter and spirit of the prevailing regulations
Minimum Qualifications:
- Must have a bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited university
- Possess a Professional Engineer (PE) License (multiple states a plus)
- Have 8-10 years of experience
- Be proficient in Civil3D and MS Office
- Have knowledge of software packages related to the field of study/industry
- Excel at problem-solving and communication skills

Environmental Professional

Our firm is looking for an experienced Environmental Professional to join our Environmental Division Team. Under the supervision of our Environmental Chief, the Environmental Professional will be a Client Satisfaction Driven person and will also assist in conducting environmental assessments in compliance with ASTM-1527E 21 protocols, developing and managing an environmental project team for multiple projects, and other duties as needed.
Basic Requirements
- Bachelor of Science degree in Geology, Earth Sciences, or Engineering Fields
- 10+ years’ experience within the Environmental consulting field
- Valid Texas driver’s license and good driving record
- Ability to pass a government background check and drug screen
Technical Requirements
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite

- Perform Phase I/II/III ESAs under the collaboration of senior management staff

Architect Intern

Our firm is looking for an intern who is actively pursuing their license. The hallmarks of a preferred candidate include organization, self-motivation, and a problem solver who can assist in all facets of a design project. Some additional requirements include the ability to conduct field verification, creation of construction documents, maintaining good rapport with partners and participating in the growth of the company as a member of the team.
Education and Experience:
- Professional degree in architecture
- 0-3 years of related work experience
Responsibilities:
- Knowledge of Design and Production drawings in AutoCAD and/or Revit
- Working knowledge of the building code and accessibility

Mid-Level Architect

Our firm is looking for a Mid-Level Architect to join and lead our Design Team. The Mid-Level Architect will contribute to and support architectural projects by assisting in preparing designs, completing contracts for construction documents, drafting of specifications, and assisting in the presentation of conceptual designs.
Responsibilities include:
- Help plan and design along with the team of architects, engineers, and planners
- Brainstorm project ideas and proposal development
- Follow-through with the life-cycle of the project, from conceptual to punch
- Oversee construction administration
- Communicate and coordinate contractors, consultants, and regulators to produce quality work on time, on budget, with good results
- Advocate for the client’s best interests and ensure clear comprehension of scope and schedule
- Engage in a diversity of project types with an interdisciplinary team, with a willingness to learn and travel
Requirements:
- Must possess a degree in Architecture
- Maintain a record as a Registered Architect with the Texas Board of Architectural Examiners (multiple states preferred)
- Have at least 5-7 years of experience, including 2 years of PM experience
- Demonstrate proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, and MS Office
- Have experience producing contract documents and prepared to instruct interns and Engineers in Training in best-practices of project delivery
- Maintain a discipline of risk management
- Have a background in adaptation of existing facilities, including field work
- Be prepared to provide quality control on any project regarding accessibility
